Beijing Phoenix International Media Center locates in the southwest corner of Chaoyang Park. The complex building includes TV program production, office, commerce and so on.
The design focuses on representing the brand features of the Phoenix Television. The architectural image is activated through the changes of the building forms from the bottom to the top, square to circle and open to united. The image of the building facade and the internal multiplex functions are close linked with each other, and lead the public activities into the building, through a large number of outdoor public spaces, which fully shows the open and flexibility of the Phoenix Television.
The special environmental, the nearby Chaoyang Park provides an opportunity for the design. The open-air theater, hanging gardens, green terraces, panorama studio, and VIP viewing platforms on the roof are arranged at the side of Chaoyang Park, which makes the building and park close connected and maximum use of the landscape resources. In the design, the open Phoenix Media Plaza is formed as the heart of the entire space. And at the same time, through the renew of the park in nearby side, a Phoenix Amphitheater on Water is added and supplies space for large outdoor cultural performances.
