The project is located in the northeast corner of Beijing University of Technology, Which is an important teaching group for the campus. the group includes a basic teaching building- the 4th teaching building, and 4 Institutes - College of Art Design, school of materials, school of life science, school of energy and environment, structural laboratories and other ancillary space. The total site area is 44776 square meters, and the total construction area is 154290 square meters，the main height of building is 45 meters, and 9 floors above , 2 floors underground .
The design mainly on the basic of the four ideas ,which are forming the three-dimensional space of the mold, the Inheritance and development of the campus Context, the modern expression of the traditional space, as well as the using of green technology. And by the ways of the holistic Roof platform, three-dimensional green technology to enrich the architectural space, We express the spatial intent of the Traditional lantern and Courtyard Ingenious, which make the new building become a new focal point of campus activity, also enrich the architectural expression of the campus.
