The Basic Teaching Building of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture locates at the core position in its DaXing new campus. It has largest site area and the most complex functions  in the whole new campus and is surposed to be the most significant landmark building in one-stage construction. 5 parts of functions compose the complex teaching building: Public Classroom, School of Humanity and Law, Science School, Computer Science and Information Department and public open space. One main purpose of this design is to break up the boundaries of the four different departments and create a series of centralized and efficient spaces. First, though relatively independent, the biuldings are connected by corridor bridges. Second, two lengthways landscape axes run through the site, connecting the dormitory area in the north and the teaching area in the south handily. As well, the two axes divide the courtyard into active space and quite space, which form a  rational and harmonious space frame. Furthermore, several atriums in the buildings found a creative and active teaching-learning mode. Such design offers all kinds of creative spaces for the teachers and students’ social and practical activities.
