The project Beijing Shiye Building is located in the central area of Beijing CBD. It is next to the International Trade Center I in the east, faces Chang'an Street in the south, business center axis road in the west and Guanghua East No.1 Street in the north.
The project requires to represent the corporate brand through the building itself as landmark on the Chang'an Street and center of CBD, where require buildings of top quality and image. The Location is formed as a north-south orientated rectangle, the width of the south facade less than 26 meters. Therefore, under the strict control of height limit, narrow space and intensive development, the construction program is a challenge.
In the design, the low part of the building southwest gets back and chamfered to be responsible to the urban space, meanwhile, the high part of the building southeast is also chamfered to face the street and environment. Therefore, the whole south facade is spiral, not only guards, but also views the Chang'an Street, and forms itself as a unique three-dimensional landmark.
